Portrait Sessions Include:
- Collaboration on set, scenery & styling
- Turn Around Time: Less than 7 days
- Download of all Digital Images (1800×1200) without watermarks (allows for up to 5×7 printing at your printer of choice)
- Online gallery for viewing & ability to buy prints, products, and high resolution digital images (not mandatory)
- Equipment & Insurance
- Styling Collaboration, including Backgrounds, Locations, Props, Wardrobe. Some location have additional fees.
Portrait Session Hours & Availability:
By appointment only
Outdoor: Depending on cloud coverage, approx. 1-2 hours before sunset or 2-3 hours after sunrise. I am mindful of temperatures too.
Afternoons only when it’s cold and mornings only when it’s hot.
Indoor & Studio: ~10:00am – 7:30pm
Weekends have limited availability. Schedule early.
All appointments require a retainer to be put on my calendar.

Capturing Precious Moments: Newborn, Maternity, and Birthday Sessions
Newborn: Cozy comfort awaits! Newborn sessions are held in my home studio, typically scheduled for weekdays when your little one is around 1 week old. This timeframe allows for capturing those precious sleepy poses and early-stage cuteness.
Maternity: Celebrate the miracle of motherhood! Maternity sessions are ideally scheduled between 34-35 weeks of pregnancy, offering some flexibility to capture your beautiful baby bump at its peak.
Birthday: It’s party time! For birthday sessions, parents are welcome to personalize the experience by providing their child’s favorite outfit, balloons, and cake. This allows you to ensure everything fits perfectly and reflects your child’s unique style.
Plan Ahead for the Perfect Look: Custom backdrops, props, and outfits can take up to 4 weeks or more to be produced and delivered. Booking your session well in advance ensures we have ample time to source the perfect styling elements for your shoot.
Savings on Bundles & Packages: Looking to capture multiple milestones? Our “Portrait Bundles” and “Year Packages” offer fantastic savings (up to 10% off regular session fees) and allow you to document your precious journey throughout the year.

Newborn:
- $450 – Studio
- $100 Retainer
- Includes 4 looks. 2 will be swaddled. The other 2 looks can be a choice between mom & dad, sibling, un-swaddled in a bucket, on a tiny bed in a tutu or PJs, or another swaddled look if Baby is fussy. I always do closeups of feet.
- We will work together to decide on the Background & Color Scheme *I prefer to assist with anything Baby may wear due to inconsistencies of sizing and proper fit
Newborn Mini:

- $100 Retainer
- Includes 3 swaddled looks. 1 of those looks can possibly be “un-swaddled” which will depend on how asleep Baby is.

Senior Sessions: When & Where
- Traditionally: Capture summer’s vibrancy with sessions booked the summer before your senior year. However, flexibility is key! You can schedule your session anytime during your senior year and even split it into multiple sessions throughout the year to capture different looks and seasons.
- Fall Flair: Embrace the beauty of autumn foliage with a full senior session. Just be mindful that this might impact yearbook ad deadlines.
Studio Options:
- Classic Drapes: I offer a flowing drape for female portraits (tuxedo rentals currently unavailable for males).
Mini vs. Full Sessions:

Mini Sessions (20 min): Perfect for capturing a specific look or theme. They include 1 outfit and 1 location. Consider mini sessions for:

- 50% off Engagement Session*Full Wedding Day Coverage generally starts 2 hours before the ceremony time and ends at the end of the reception. These hours can be adjusted, depending on your needs.
Travel Fees:
Weddings and events further than 20 miles from me in Canton will have travel fees. Generally $1/mile.
Anything out of town will have hotel, meals and any transportation costs added for 2-3 days.

- $240 – Quick Studio Headshot or “Outdoor” Headshot with digitally added corporate background: includes all digital files and 1 final edit in print & web versions. No full shots, 1 Background and 1 outfit.
- $170 – SPECIAL Studio Graduating College Senior (Heather’s Studio) – Appointments in Jun. through Aug. AND Dec. through Feb.
- $340 – 1 Employee On-Location: Custom Headshot Shoot (onsite or location of choice) includes all digital files and 1 final edit in print & web versions. +$240 each additional employee.
- $1000 – 4 Employees On-Location: Custom Headshot Shoot (onsite or location of choice) includes all digital files and 1 final edit in print & web versions. +$200 each additional employee. +$50/hour if time exceeds 1 hour.
- $2025 – 11 Employees On-Location: Custom Headshot Shoot (onsite or location of choice) includes all digital files and 1 final edit in print & web versions. +$150 each additional employee. +$50/hour if time exceeds 1 hour.
General Commercial Photography (doesn’t include detailed retouching):
- Day rate (less than 8 hours): $2000
- Half Day Rate (less than 4 hours): $1150
- Hourly: $400 for 1st hour, $300 for each additional
- $250 base fee/day and $125/hour
FAQs
Capturing Memories: Perfect Timing for Outdoor Family Portraits
Looking for beautiful outdoor portraits with young children?
Here's a guide to scheduling your session:
- Golden Hours: Early mornings and late afternoons offer the most comfortable temperatures and flattering light. May and October are ideal months, but late April, early June, and late September might work too, depending on the weather.
- Weekend Availability: Weekends are popular, so securing the "perfect" time slot might be limited. We only offer about 14 appointments per weekend, so plan ahead!
What about the weather?
- Rescheduling for Comfort: If the forecast predicts rain (over 40% chance) or uncomfortable temperatures (below 55°F or above 85°F), we'll offer you alternative dates or a studio session. We might also need to adjust your session time slightly based on the day's weather conditions.
- Ideal Conditions: The sweet spot for outdoor sessions is between 60°F and 80°F. We can manage cooler temperatures (down to 50°F) for adult-only sessions. Wind speeds should ideally be below 8 mph.
- Embrace All Light: I enjoy capturing photos on both sunny and cloudy days. While they create different moods, cloud cover alone isn't a reason to reschedule.
Studio vs. Outdoor:
- Outdoor sessions can be trickier to schedule due to their dependence on weather, sunlight, and blooming seasons. We can only schedule one outdoor session per day during "magic hour" (just after sunrise or right before sunset). This timing might not be ideal for young children's nap schedules or early bedtimes. Rescheduling due to weather is also more common with outdoor sessions.
- Studio sessions offer a more comfortable and reliable option, always guaranteeing beautiful results.
What's Included:
- All portrait sessions are inclusive and come with a set of digital images (1800x1200 resolution).
- I have backup equipment and full insurance for your peace of mind.
Retainers and Rescheduling:
- A retainer is required to book your preferred date and time. We require 24 hours' notice to avoid losing your retainer.
- We understand that bad weather and illness happen. If needed, we'll work together to find a new session time or move indoors.
Number of Photos:
- The number of final images you receive will depend on the specific shoot (what we're capturing, number of people involved, etc.).
When Littles Don't Cooperate:
- Sometimes, even the best efforts can't coax a smile from a child. This is perfectly normal! We'll work with their natural energy to capture genuine moments.
